NY Tyrant: Jody Brown, John Haskell and Rachel Sherman

Jody Brown is the editor of the New York Tyrant. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, educated in San Francisco and New Orleans, he now splits his time between Brooklynand San Francisco.

John Haskell is the author of a short story collection, I Am Not Jackson Pollock (FSG, 2003), and American Purgatorio (FSG, 2005), his first novel. His work has appeared in Granta, The Paris Review, Conjunctions, and Ploughshares. He is a contributor to the radio show The Next Big Thing. He lives in Brooklyn.

Rachel Sherman is the author of The First Hurt (Open City Books, 2006). She was a finalist in The Frank O’Connor Short Story Awards, and shortlisted for The StoryPrize. The First Hurt was chosen as one of the 25 Books to Remember of 2006 by the New York Public Library. Her fiction has appeared in Story Quarterly, Conjunctions, McSweeney’s, n+1, Small Spiral Notebook, and Nerve, among other publications.
