Open City: Jonathan Baumbach and Sarah Goodyear

Born in Brooklyn, son of a painter, father of a filmmaker, Jonathan Baumbach is author of 15 books, most recently YOU: OR, THE INVENTION OF MEMORY. His short stories have been published in Open City, Esquire, Zoetrope, TriQuarterly, Partisan Review, Iowa Review, and Boulevard, among many other publications. And his work has been featured in many anthologies, including: Best American Short Stories, O. Henry Prize Stories, Full Court: a Literary Anthology of Basketball, and On the Couch: Great American Stories about Therapy.

Sarah Goodyear grew up in New York City and attended the University of California at Berkeley, where she studied poetry with Robert Pinsky. She has worked as a writer and editor at several magazines, including Rolling Stone and Time Out New York, where she is currently a contributing editor, and her nonfiction work has appeared in publications including Ms. magazine and the Village Voice. Her debut novel, View from a Burning Bridge, was published in 2007 by Red Hen Press. She lives in Brooklyn.
