Poetry: Andrey Gritsman and Fanny Howe

Andrey Gritsman is a native of Moscow, Russia, immigrated to the US in1981, lives in the New York City, works as a physician. He is a poet, essayist and translator and writes in English and in his native Russian. Mr.Gritsman is the author of five volumes of poetry and book of essays in Russian. Andrey is the author of many publications in Russia, in Israel and in Europe inprestigious literary periodicals. New collection Long Fall of poems and essays in English has been published by the Spuyten Duyvil Press. Poetry collection In Transit in English with Romanian translations was published in 2004 in Bucharest, Romania. New poetry collection Pisces is forthcoming from Numina Press in California. Andrey¹s poetry was translated into several languages. As a translator Mr. Gritsman is focused on translations of modern Russian poetry into English and poetry of the Russian Silver Age: Akhmatova, Mandelstam, Blok. Poems and essays in English have appeared in Denver Quarterly, Notre Dame Review, Richmond Review (London, UK), Ars Interpres (Stockholm-New York), Poetry International, Manhattan Review, New Orleans Review, South Carolina Review, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Bayou, Confrontation, Cimarron Review, Writers Chronicle and many others and were anthologized in Modern Poetry in Translation (UK), in Crossing Centuries (New Generation in Russian Poetry), in The Breath of Parted Lips: Voices from the Robert Frost Place, CavanKerry Press and in Uyisses Unchained (Anthology of Russian Poetry in Diaspora, by NLO Publishing House,  Moscow).Mr. Gritsman was nominated several times for the Pushcart Prize and was onthe short list for the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award for Poetry of the PEN American Center. Andrey Gritsman received the Master in Fine Arts degree in Poetry from Vermont College. He runs Intercultural Poetry Series in a literary club Cornelia Street Café in New York City and is the Editor and Publisher of the on-line international poetry magazine INTERPOEZIA (www.interpoezia.net)
