Monica Ferrell is a graduate of Harvard and the Columbia M.F.A. program. Her poems have appeared in The New York Review of Books, The Paris Review, and other magazines. A former 2001 "Discovery"/The Nation winner and Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, she lives in Brooklyn, NY. She reads from her novel: The Answer is Always Yes

“From the smoke and mirrors of the New York club scene emerges Magic Matt, the Jay Gatsby of his generation. This painfully unpopular young man's fierce determination to reinvent himself as the hippest kid at NYU is, by turns, darkly comic and profoundly tragic. THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS YES is a stellar coming-of-age novel with a nifty, sinister postmodern twist. And it's a terrific read; an eloquent page-turner. How's that for some kind of wonderful?” -- Binnie Kirshenbaum, author of An Almost Perfect Moment and A Disturbance In One Place

Andrew Foster Altschul is a Jones Lecturer and former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University. His short fiction and essays have appeared in Esquire, McSweeney's, Fence, Swink, One Story, and other journals, and in anthologies including The O. Henry Prize Stories and Best New American Voices. His political commentary appears frequently on The Huffington Post. Since 2002, he has lived in San Francisco. He reads from his novel: Lady Lazarus

"Altschul is one of our great young writers, and Lady Lazarus is the proof. A poetic satire of rock and roll, and a rock and roll ode to poetry, it mirrors its heroine: smart, gorgeous, and funny as hell."
