Sophie Cabot Black has published two poetry collections, The Misunderstanding of Nature, which received the Poetry Society of America’s First Book Award and The Descent, which received the 2005 Connecticut Book Award. Her poetry has appeared in numerous magazines, including The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic, The New Yorker, and The Paris Review. She currently teaches at Columbia University.
Michael McGrath is currently a Hoyns/Poe-Faulkner Fellow at the University of Virginia, where he reads, writes, and teaches. His story in the current issue of Open City is his first publication.
Saïd Sayrafiezadeh’s critically acclaimed memoir, When Skateboards Will Be Free, was selected as one of the ten best books of 2009 by Dwight Garner of The New York Times. The paperback edition was released earlier this month.
