Justin Mayer is a New Jersey native and a 2nd year MFA Fiction student at Rutgers Newark. He writes small, personal stories about people dealing with the changes that come with evolving technology, aging bodies, and acts of fate.

Paula Neves was born and raised in and around Newark’s Ironbound section and has never been able to escape its gravitational pull.  Rumor has it she was the original inspiration for the line in Godfather III: “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” Of course, this could as easily refer to her relationship with Rutgers, from which she holds a B.A. in English and Portuguese, an M.A. in English and from which she will soon have an MFA in poetry. Her fiction and creative non-fiction have appeared in various anthologies for Alyson Books, New Victoria Publishers, and others. Her poetry has appeared in The Poetry of Sex, the Newark Metro, and is forthcoming in the New Laurel Review. She is the recipient of a 2002 Norcroft Writing Fellowship and currently teaches English composition at Rutgers-Newark.

Mary Jang-ye Schultz was born in Seoul, Korea and raised in Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a BA in English with a focus on Creative Writing and minored in Religious Studies. She has been working as a bartender after moving to Brooklyn, New York in 2002, with the exception of two years when she was a publicity assistant for a small publishing house. She has taken workshops with the 92 Y Unterberg Poetry Center, Sarah Lawrence Summer Writing Workshop, and the Sackett Street Writer’s workshop.
