Pereyra-Baremboin-Teubal Trio plus Juan Masotta as a guest. The PBT are Hector “Pulpo” Pereyra in voice, Ivan Baremboin in clarinet and Emilio Teubal in keyboards. They are very well known in the tango community and they have performed in a number of venues in NY, CT, MA and the east coast.
Hector “Pulpo” Pereyra is an authentic product of porteño culture who longs for shady spots like Chino’s bar in Buenos Aires, where old-timers passionately sang the saddest tangos with the grimiest voices. He began performing after arriving in New York eight years ago.
Ivan Baremboin is an Argentinean clarinetist that specializes in klezmer and “guardia vieja” (old school) tango. He works as a performing and recording artist in New York. His sound adds a unique, vintage edge to the tango combo.
Emilio Teubal, a pianist from Buenos Aires, has been living in NYC for 10 years and is an accomplished pianist and composer with his group, La Bautelband an 8-piece combo that fusions Argentinean rhythms with contemporary music.
