KGB BAR LIT accepts submissions for both weekly and monthly publication in the categories below. Please email all stories, essays, features, reviews, previews, videos, artwork, and music to submitlit@kgbbar.com according to the guidelines below.

(Indicate the category you are submitting to in the subject line of your email. All work will be considered for both monthly and weekly publication.)

 

FICTION
We accept unpublished stories and excerpts between 1500-3000 words.

 

NONFICTION
We accept unpublished essays and memoir pieces between 1500 – 3000 words.

 

LIT 150
We accept unpublished sections of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry of 150 words. Please let us know the time, date, and city in which it was written.

 

ARTIST ON WRITERS

To be included in this section, please take a look at our current content and send your answers to the following interview questions via a Word attachment: 1) Most influential book; 2) Age discovered; 3) Your first thoughts; 4) The way this book has affected you as an artist; 5) What you’re working on now.With each submission, include images of your artwork as jpegs or gifs at 72 dpi for the web: one image at 145w x 200h pixels; one image at 285w x 500h pixels; two images at 570w x 115h pixels.

Audio and Video format: mp3, mp4 or QuickTime (max 3 min & no more than 12MB)

BOOK PREVIEWS
Our previews include excerpts from forthcoming books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, along with short author interviews. If you’re an author who would like your book previewed, send us an email. We excerpt 1000 words and our interview section is about 700 words.

BOOK REVIEWS
If you would like to review a book or have a book reviewed, please let us know. Our reviews are 500 words. Feel free to send books directly to our office.
